A groundbreaking partnership between the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) and the University of California, Riverside (UCR) is transforming access to affordable housing for students, creating a shared residential community that fosters belonging, opportunity, and academic success. North District Phase 2 delivers 1,568 apartment-style beds, including 652 reserved for low-income students, along with modern amenities, study spaces, and community areas that support holistic student development.
RCCD Chancellor Wolde-Ab Isaac, Ph.D., emphasized the project’s broader significance: “This partnership is unique. We now share two housing towers with UCR that break down barriers that once existed. This is about more than beds. It is about access, opportunity, and belonging.” Riverside City College student Jordan reflected: “This program is opening doors for me I never thought possible.” Moreno Valley College student Natalie M. added: “I feel so much more prepared now. This feels like the start of something big.”
