Stunt Team Makes History; Qualifies for Club Stunt Nationals

Riverside City College’s Stunt Team secured a spot in the Club Stunt Nationals for the first time in school history. This milestone marks a significant moment for the team and distinguishes the College as the only community college in the nation to achieve this feat.

Ranked fourth in the nation, the team competed alongside Division I powerhouses like Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Oklahoma State University, Michigan State University, and Arizona State University. The Tigers, however, fell to Arizona State and then Michigan State. Oklahoma State beat Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to win the national title.

Stunt, recognized as the fastest-growing female sport in the country, focuses on technical and athletic components of cheer, including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, group jumps, and tumbling. With the removal of crowd-leading elements, stunt emphasizes skill execution and athleticism, making it an exhilarating sport to play, coach and watch.

USA Cheer developed the competition to provide colleges, universities and high schools with a Title IX-compliant sport, expanding participation opportunities for female athletes with cheerleading backgrounds.
