Family Makes a Gift to College’s Career Closet

Riverside City College received a heartwarming donation from the family of the late Marie Colucci, Ph.D., a beloved figure at the College for over three decades who dedicated herself to nursing education, earning the title of full professor.

Dr. Steve Colucci, in honor of his late wife, contributed a substantial collection of professional attire to the Career Closet.

His wife’s influence extended beyond the classroom. She as the Nursing Department chair and played a pivotal role in establishing partnerships with institutions like California State University, Northridge to facilitate so Riverside City College graduates could pursue bachelor’s degrees at the university.

The Career Closet serves as a resource for students navigating the transition into professional life. It provides students with access to new or gently used professional attire, empowering them to pursue career opportunities confidently.

The donation marked the second impactful moment by the Colucci family. In 2009, The Dr. Marie Colucci Endowed Nursing Scholarship was funded. The scholarship supports continuing registered nursing students who share her passion for education and excellence.
