Gordon Returns to Serve Students as Basic Needs Supervisor

Angie Gordon, who has over twenty years of advocacy for families through career development and social services, returned to Moreno Valley College as its Basic Needs and Wellness supervisor. Gordon previously worked for the College as grant facilitator in the office of TRIO from May 2016 to June 2019.

 

As Basic Needs and Wellness supervisor, Gordon will coordinate day-to-day operations of the office, including planning, organization, coordination and oversight of the Wellness Center and related activities. She will also develop partnerships with internal College departments and programs and grow community resources to provide solutions addressing basic needs and wellness insecurity affecting student success and persistence.

 

Since leaving the District in May of 2019, Gordon worked for five years for the County of Riverside in the Department of Public Social Services, Self-Sufficiency Division. As regional manager for the Self-Sufficiency and Assistance Programs, she oversaw and managed daily operations of several offices that administer human service programs (CalWORKs, GAIN/Welfare-to-Work, CalFRESH, Medi-Cal, Child Care, General Relief, Homeless Assistance, and Former Foster Care). In 2022, Gordon began a stint with Angie’s Suite as a career and positive habit coach, assisting clients (K-12 students and adult learners) in developing realistic goals and life plans while motivating them to make positive life-altering changes and facilitating presentations on various social/emotional, career and academic topics.

Gordon holds a master’s degree in educational counseling from the University of La Verne and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentration in Organizational Leadership from California Baptist University.
