This has been a year of hard work, collaboration, and success.
One of the best indicators of the hard work that was done is the 5,714 graduates who received 6,411 associate degrees and 2,778 certificates at the end of the Spring semester of 2024. This was the result of years of studious work by the graduates, corresponding instruction and mentoring work done by the faculty, the extensive student services and other supportive work done by the classified professionals, and the management work done by administrators on all of the campuses and in the District offices.
It was definitely a collaborative effort that extended far beyond the classrooms and into the communities around us. I sincerely appreciate the outstanding support that RCCD and its colleges have received from local residents, community organizations, labor and business enterprises, the K-12 districts and higher education partners, and government officials. It takes all of us, working together, to achieve the success we seek.
This year, the communities of this District have demonstrated their support and commitment to education and our community colleges at the ballot box, passing
Proposition 2 and Measure CC. These bonds will provide much-needed funds to renovate and construct new facilities at each existing campus, and at new campuses in Corona and Jurupa Valley. This will allow us to significantly increase the capabilities and capacity of the RCCD colleges to affordably train and educate current and future generations of students.
This investment in RCCD will pay huge dividends toward the economic vitality of this region. We will have a more educated workforce that is prepared for the growth and opportunities that are coming. More people, from the diverse populations living in this area, will have access to a higher education than ever before - ensuring social justice and equity - and facilitating the emergence from poverty to prosperity for those who have traditionally been disadvantaged. In this annual report, you will see that RCCD and its colleges are the catalysts for change in the Inland Empire. We are already experiencing great success that is obvious in the data and articles presented herein. With your help and support, we can continue these trends into 2025 and beyond.
With Gratitude,
